Efficiency Estimation of International Technical Assistance

The article describes an approach to the efficiency measurement of international technical assistance based on panel data with the use of a fixed-effects model. It also presents the analysis of effect of paid and unpaid technical assistance and of direct foreign investment on the CIS countries risk over the period 2000–2009.

Satellite Accounts in the SNA 2008: Recommended Methodological Basis and the Experience of Ukraine

The article provides methodological approaches to compiling satellite accounts within the framework of the System of National Accounts 2008. The author analyses types, characteristics and principles of com piling satellite accounts according to the recommended international statistical standards and gives examples of satellite accounts introduced in statistical practice of Ukraine.

Methodological Approaches to the Improvement of Statistical Accounting of Foreign Trade in Services

The aim of this article is to present methodological approaches and main stages of the improvement of statistical accounting of foreign trade in services and to analyze the dynamics of foreign trade in services and structural changes. The author shows the data formation sources for state statistical observation of foreign trade in services and studies the issue of services value determination in foreign trade.

High Statistical Technologies: Ukrainian Experience of Using Business Tendency Surveys

The author grounds the use of the concept “high statistical technologies” for such sector of non-numerical data statistics, as using the information of business and consumer surveys (business tendency surveys) in composite (synthetic) indicators for modeling and flash forecasting of changes in economic tendencies. The article shows the reasons which in the meantime make it impossible to use the all-European indicators for the analysis of the Ukrainian economy, and presents characteristics of the suggested Ukrainian indicators. The comparative analysis of two kinds of Ukrainian synthetic indicators (the leading indicators and those ones called “ordinary”) is offered as well as the ways of their further improvement.

Institutionalization of International Financial Markets: Basic Tendencies

The paper analyzes changes in the world redistribution of capital caused by transformational processes in the global financial market. Tendencies of institutional investors’ activity were estimated as well as their structure and lines of development. The authors consider statistical support for accounting of institutional investors in the member countries of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development.

Statistical Information Quality: Effect on the Relationship of Producers and Users of Official Statistics

The article considers historical aspects of relations of producers and consumers of goods and services, in statistics in particular. The authors outline the stages of creating a dialogue between the users and producers of statistical information and suggest the ways to meet the users’ needs and requirements as much as possible. They also study interdependency of statistical information quality and users’ satisfaction.

The key problems of operation of the Kyoto protocol market mechanisms are under consideration as well as the differences between them from the market players’ point of view. Multivariate Comparative Analysis in Poverty Measurement

The aim of the article is to consider methods of poverty measurement and the calculations made by international and national institutions and organizations. For these estimations it is offered to use the results of statistical analysis of the socio-economic development of the territories. The authors show the relations of development indicators of the territories with the poverty estimation of their population.

Demographic Modernization in Ukraine: Transformation of Mortality Conditions

The article estimates conformity of the mortality conditions in Ukraine with the tendencies of demographic modernization and with the algorithm of social modernization in general. By analyzing the dynamics of quantitative and qualitative changes of the Ukraine’s population mortality and taking into account peculiarities of its levels and structure as compared with the European Union countries, the author shows incompleteness of the modernization process of mortality conditions in Ukraine and formulates the principal causes of lagging behind the developed countries in the death rate decrease.

Investment Factor of Effect on the Balance of Financial System at the Regional Level

The paper analyses the influence of some factors on the balance of the financial system at the regional level and at the same time gives special attention to the determination of effect of the investment factor. Using the results of research the author makes a conclusion, that only well-grounded measures as to the attraction and use of direct foreign investments will promote receiving the desirable result – restoration of balance of financial system of Ukraine.

Statistical Forecasting of the General Fund of Expenses on Health Protection of the State Budget of Ukraine for 2014

The article grounds the need of studying the indicators of the State budget of Ukraine. Statistical forecasting was carried out on the basis of the development tendencies of the budgetary system of the state. It is shown that the models constructed on the data of expenses in the previous budget periods make it possible to determine the expenditure structure for health protection in 2014.
